Final Resting Place of Tarrook

Tarrook, The Prophet

Background: Tarrook, an one hundred and twenty year old Sandokhan, was considered a "holy fool" by his people. He was very well loved and respected.  Some of his ancient writings have been recognized as prophetic.  He had a vision of the complete destruction of his race and became obsessed with the end times of the Sandokhans. Tarrook prayed and fasted forty years hoping to beg the Great One for a way to save his people. According to legend, the Great One inspired him to write this poem as a warning to his people not to destroy themselves by destroying others. He scarcely had time to blow the sand off the stone tablet from his writing on it when he died.

The poem, of course, does not translate well into Federation Standard ;o) . It's also missing a few verses...

The Last Prophecy of Tarrook

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
Will come one not yet seen
A product of ancient king and queen
Will be born, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
Born of noble blood tis true
But of actions  nobler do
Sacrifices, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
Things ne'er alive multiply
While wrongs of dead multiply
Is caught,  the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
In the darkness, loss is gain
In the darkness, dry under the rain
Lies, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness where the dead things grow,
Trapped by the paths that  wind
Trapped by the things that bind
Suffers, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow
Saving  us from our self made fate
The one with two is the gate
To peace, Sandokhan survival and ending of hate
Heals, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
Lies the one to save us all
Came to save us from our planet's fall
Lies dying, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow,
Among the dead, the six trying go
Among the dead, the four dying go
Is taken, the one who shines blue.

In the darkness, where the dead things grow
The one shining blue from afar
Reluctant visitor from another star
Shines blue for me and you
To heal us from our wounds
To shake us from our divisive cocoons
One in blue, shine for me
And I supplicate of thee,
Make me to see,
The difference between journey and the journey's end
From enemy to friend
From dark to light
From greed to right
From weakness to might
In the darkness where the dead things grow.
