Captain's Logs: First Course or First Contact?

 'Captain Kematsopoulos here. The USS Eagle has no propulsions or shields at this time. Sensor use except for the radio array assembly is intermittent. We are under attack by beings unknown that are undetectable to our tricorders. They are manipulating our crew members and using them to take over the ship. Those with the highest telepathic ratings are the most affected. Other telepaths and  non telepaths who have had telepathic interactions with other races are also feeling the effects of the assault. From the medical analysis of our CMO, it is only a matter of time before all our people are affected.

 Our CMO and others have joined together in the wardroom and are engaging in telepathic warfare with the aliens to drive them out. There has been some limited success. Security has been deployed around the ship to regain control of key areas and hold others.

 The result of the launch of four probes has informed us that we are in the anomaly that only two hours ago, our sensors told us was a week away and has provided other data.

 There is wormhole hidden within the anomaly. We have both particle analysis and visual conformation of it.  We are transmitting the information from the probes in hopes it can assist others to avoid the anomaly.

This region of space should be quarantined and warning beacons deployed around the perimeter until it can be navigated safely.

   End log."

"Launch and transmit this message," the Captain ordered.

"Aye, launching and transmitting," was LT Schuler's swift reply as he completed his task.
