History:

Valentina Ivanova Tereshkova Tsiolkovsky was born in Moscow, Russia, Earth in 2269 to Dr. Vassilissa Ivanova Tereshkova and Rear Admiral Tsiolkovsky. Her early childhood was turbulent. Her parents are Starfleet Officers and were deployed for most of her childhood on different ships. They divorced when she was nine.

Her ancestry includes a long and distinguished line of Russian cosmonauts and scientists including Valentina Tereshkova,Andrian Nikolayev and Konstantin Tsiolokovsky.

In her freshman year in high school, Valentina Ivanova Tereshkova Tsiolkovsky performed well at the Daystrom Technological Institute High School Competition. Her paper, "Modes of Electromagnetic Radiation on a Subspace Cavity," won her honorable mention and a scholarship to attend the Institute's coveted summer symposium for young scientists.

Valentina Ivanova Tereshkova Tsiolkovsky was appointed to and entered Starfleet Academy in June of 2287. Her parents who were still not talking to each other, were pleased with her appointment and career choice.

During her time at the Academy, she distinguished herself as an excellent student in engineering and applied physics, particularly subspace physics.

She has an impressive pedigree with famous ancestors such as Konstantin Tsiolkovsky,rocket scientist, and Valentina Tereseshkovna, the first female Terran cosmonaut.
