The Empress of All Galadon
Title: The Eye of Evil, Part Two
Setting: Main Floor, Receiving Room
Location: Imperial Palace, Imperial City, Galadon Twelve
LT Gheorgkh returns to the Imperial Palace. He has the requested information
about the Federation vessel that was engulfed by the Klahdesheen Binehtihreht,
the Eye of Evil. The young man sits patiently waiting for the Empress
to arrive. He hopes that she will overlook his earlier mistake and that she
will give him the opportunity to prove his worth and devotion to her.

The young officer looks up as the doors from the upper level open and immediately
arises and stands at attention. He sees the Empress, all arrayed as befits
her status as head of the Galadonese Empire, appear at the top of the long
sweeping staircase. Her blue gown and robes flow majestically behind her
emphasizing her grace and beauty while the Imperial headdress adds even more
height to her tall and impressive stature.
Zahrina, Empress of All Galadon, glides purposefully down the gilded stairs,
rebuilt since the Romulan attack that killed most of the Royal Family and
destroyed much of the palace. She presses ahead, trying not to dwell on such
matters or the alien Captain of doomed Earth vessel, who had risked his life
to save hers during that very same set of explosions. She knew she must try
harder now to keep her composure, as she had felt the young lieutenant return
earlier.
Unfortunately she had to delay speaking with him. Preparations for the second
meeting of the day, a formal dinner with aliens to discuss a possible alliance
had to be finalized. She had learned at a tender age that the interest of
Galadon always must come first and like her parents, always did so.
The Empress took a deep breath and kept her poise. It was not easy. She knew
that after the young officer reported on the status and locations of their
operatives, she would have to make a decision who, if any, could be diverted
to look for survivors of the USS Eagle. Considering the intelligence
operation going on in that area, they might not be able to afford to divert
anyone. It would be hard to justify a reassignment considering the finality
of the situation. The Klahdesheen Binehtihreht never gave up those
it claimed for dead.
Zahrina did not expect there to be any survivors, but she still held out
hope.
