USS Eagle, NCC 2185
Captain Kematsopoulos, CO & Yeoman Naomi Tsundra
Title: A Matter of Time, Part Four
Location: USS Eagle
Setting: Briefing Room
While Yeoman Perksandra got some time off from Captain sitting, Yeoman Tsundra
came to get the Captain as he requested.
"Sir, Yeoman Tsundra is here," a voice announces over the comms to the briefing
"Have her come in," the man orders.
"As you wish sir," the voice replies.
The man shuts the comms and listens for the doors.
SWISH! Yeoman Tsundra enters and announces herself in a deep
husky voice that seemed out of place with her tiny five foot three frame.
"Hello sir," she says.
SWISH! The man hears the door shut.
"Hello," he replies. "I've asked you here instead because..."
"...because you wish to take me up on my offer to try it again," the Yeoman
"Yes," he replies. He wasn't sure whether he was more relived or more
annoyed that she had an uncanny knack for finishing his sentences.
"Not here," she explains.
"I know. I don't want to risk it either where we might be interrupted," he
"You don't look well sir," she says.
"I don't feel well. I need to get a few more things done and rest. The most
important of which is to get some more clues as to what is going on," he
"Shall we then? I can try and help again with the last one," she offers.
Despite her small frame, the hand she reaches to him with is strong and steady.
"I know my way," he says.
"I am sure you do - by now. You've had time to learn a great many things.
Have you memorized your way around Engineering yet?" she asks.
"Most of it. I got a little interrupted," he replies alluding to the recent
attacks on the Eagle.
"Good. You don't want to repeat what happened around CDR Tsiolkovsky again.
She's known you the longest. She could be the one who figures out something
else is going on," she warns.
"I won't repeat that mistake and it won't be too much longer before I can
see again. I just have to be careful to keep a distance from her and Jim.
I can't do that, of course, with Perksandra," he explains.
"No, that would arouse too much suspicion. Is she buying it?" the Yeoman
"I think so. It's hard to tell since she's pretty good at keeping emotion
out of her voice," the man replies.
"A good quality in a Yeoman, is it not?" she says a bit mysteriously.
He'd have flashed her a hard look if he could see her. Instead it was more
of an odd smile. ~~What emotions were she hiding from her voice? ~~
he wonders, reluctantly taking her hand.
